John Deere Enhances 6D and 6R Series Tractors

Deere & Company has announced enhancements to the 6D and 6R Series Tractors for 2015. These changes are designed to further enhance the performance and operational capabilities of these popular models across a broad 105 to 215 horsepower range. The four 6D Series Tractors (6105D, 6115D, 6130D and 6140D) come with two new transmissions: a 12/12 PowrReverser or optional 24/12 PowrReverser Hi/Lo to provide more speeds within each working range. According to Brad Tolbert, marketing manager for 6 Family Tractors for John Deere, these new transmission options allow operators to shift on the fly to match changing field conditions and keep engine RPMs constant for PTO-driven equipment such as rotary cutters and balers. For 2015, the versatile 6D Series Tractors will continue to be offered with an industry-proven, single fluid Interim Tier 4 engine, which is attractive to grain and livestock producers, as well as to government and municipal customers for roadside and right-of-way maintenance. John Deere also has made improvements to its 6R Series lineup by adding five extra horsepower to the current 6R models (the 6170R, 6190R, and 6210R) to create three new higher horsepower models - 6175R, 6195R and 6215R - making these tractors even more productive in the field. These higher spec machines feature Final Tier 4-compliant engines with Intelligent Power Management, which automatically provides up to a 40 HP boost when the load calls for it, especially during transport and PTO-driven implements.

John Deere Launches New 9R/9RT Series Tractors

Deere & Company has launched new 9R/9RT Series Tractors. The new 9R/9RT Series Tractors feature more horsepower across all models and hydraulic capacity in durable, articulated four-wheel-drive and track tractor platforms. These machines are ideal for row-crop applications and large-acre small-grain operations with tough field conditions and hillside terrain, as well as the high-performance demands of the scraper market. The 9R/9RT Series features 10 models with wheels and six tracked models to meet any farming or land management need. The models are (the last three digits of the model number indicates horsepower): 9370R, 9420R, 9470R/9470RT, 9520R/9520RT, 9570R/9570RT, 9620R, 9470R/9470RT Scraper Special, 9520R/9520RT Scraper Special, 9570R/9570RT Scraper Special and 9620R Scraper Special. The advanced John Deere PowerTech PSS 9.0L and 13.5L engines, along with the 15L Cummins QSX15 engine, are all Tier 4 Final-compliant and deliver the reliable horsepower and torque required for increased machine performance. All three engines share a common technology approach to meet the near-zero emissions regulations. The new and improved e18 PowerShift transmission with Efficiency Manager is the smoothest shifting power shift in the market, with an additional automatic mode for efficiency manager that's designed to increase machine fluid efficiency and operator productivity. In addition, hydraulic flow has been increased to 115 gpm, giving these tractors plenty of capacity to handle large implements with ease. An industry exclusive feature customers will quickly appreciate on the 9520R, 9570R and 9620R models is the HydraCushion Suspension System. Located on the front axle, HydraCushion Suspension mitigates power hop and road lope to ensure customers get all of the horsepower to the ground for the high level of traction. The CommandView III Cab provides increased operator comfort and ease of operation with a redesigned CommandARM, featuring a John Deere 4600 CommandCenter display for convenient control of tractor functions and settings. This puts everything needed to do the job at the operator's fingertips while sitting in a seat that swivels 40 degrees to reduce strain when viewing rear implements. The new 9R/9RT Series comes with a new premium LED lighting package for brilliant nighttime work illumination. Optional Active Command Steering, another industry exclusive for four-wheel-drive tractors, provides improved line hold and steering feel at high speeds (26 mph transport speed) and reduces steering effort in the field. Factory integration of the 9R/9RT Series Tractors with the latest technology solutions, along with dealer value-added services and support, is all part of the suite of John Deere FarmSight solutions for customers.

John Deere Launches 8000 Series Self-Propelled Forage Harvesters

Deere & Company has launched 8000 Series self-propelled forage harvesters, or SPFH. This new series integrates cutting-edge crop analysis and documentation with an innovative machine design to provide superior efficiency, reliability and crop quality. The bottom line at harvest is to get the most high-quality forage out of the field as possible, with the least amount of time and expense. The 8000 Series is designed to do exactly that with DuraDrum cutterheads and KernelStar technology for excellent corn silage processing. The AutoLOC (automatic length of cut) feature allows the operator to dial in the precise cutting length based on forage conditions. Two cutterhead widths, matched to engine horsepower, are available, so capacity can be customized for any need. All-new header solutions and crop-flow layouts increase flexibility among different crops and provide better performance in wet or dry conditions. Large 42-inch tires reduce compaction while providing excellent traction in all types of conditions. The 8000 Series provides this performance while reducing fuel consumption as much as 18%. Operator comfort also has been improved, with superior visibility from the cab, as well as longer service cycles, less daily maintenance and easier access to service points. Other features include the GreenStar 2630 with touchscreen display and all functions conveniently located in the CommandARM, Remote Display Access and AutoTrac with RowSense. Technologies such as Harvest Lab, HarvestDoc, and other software applications as part of the John Deere FarmSight platform provide easy access to equipment and agronomic information.
