The Media Networks segment provides entertainment content and related branded products through approximately 200 TV channels, including MTV, VH1, CMT, Logo, BET, CENTRIC, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., TeenNick, Nicktoons, Nick at Nite, COMEDY CENTRAL, TV Land, SPIKE, Tr3s, Paramount Channel, and VIVA, as well as through hundreds of online, mobile, and app experiences. The Filmed Entertainment segment produces, finances, acquires, and distributes motion pictures and other entertainment content under the Paramount Pictures, Paramount Vantage, Paramount Classics, Insurge Pictures, MTV Films, and Nickelodeon Movies brands. It exhibits the motion pictures theatrically, and through download-to-own, download-to-rent, DVDs and Blu-ray discs, video-on-demand, pay television and subscription video-on-demand, broadcast television, basic cable television, and syndicated television. The company is headquartered in New York, New York. Viacom, Inc. (NasdaqGS:VIAB) operates independently of CBS Corporation as of December 31, 2005.

Viacom Appoints Alan Musa as Commercial Director

Viacom announced that it has hired former Turner executive Alan Musa as commercial director of Nickelodeon and Comedy Central in the UK. Musa will be responsible for Viacom International Media Networks UK's pay-TV distribution agreements as well as business development for the comedy and kids channels, which are joint ventures with Sky. He will act as the chief contact for the Sky Media team as well as Viacom's digital ad sales teams and will be a key member of the Nickelodeon senior management team, attending its board meetings three times a year. He joins later this month after leaving digital business Shorts International, where he was president of EMEA. He previously held a number of senior roles within Turner Entertainment Broadcasting.

Viacom and Sony Corporation Announces Internet Distribution Agreement

Viacom and Sony Corporation announced a agreement for Sony's forthcoming cloud-based TV service to carry 22 Viacom networks at launch. The deal marks Viacom's first-ever agreement to provide its networks for an Internet-based live TV and video on demand service. Sony's cloud-based TV service will offer subscribers Internet-based live TV and video on demand from major programmers, including the following content from Viacom: At least 22 Viacom linear networks at launch, including BET, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Nicktoons, Spike, TV Land and VH1, BET Gospel, Centric, Logo, CMT Pure Country, MTV Hits, MTV James, mtvU, Palladia, TeenNick, Vh1 Classic and Vh1 Soul and all available HD. Authenticated access to hundreds of hours of programming on Viacom's TV Everywhere websites and apps.
